Thankful.
im thankful for...
-my parents who have worked so hard for me and my brother to have the life we do now.
-bella and lola who never fail to bring me joy on a daily basis.
-my precious amigas: olivia micah kelsey cassie annie who listen to me when i dont make sense and make fun of me when i deserve it and love me when i dont deserve it.
-my house with a beautiful kitchen and bathroom and running water and a fridge and heat and a washer and dryer...i take those things for granted to much of the time, but they are such a luxury to so many people. and a luxury when you come home from mission trips hanging out with those precious people!
-music and art and books which make my heart jump and fly and beat.
-and finally, i am most thankful for the sweet and lovely relationship i have with Jesus. I love talking to you and listening to all you have to teach me. thank you for loving me when i suck (which is all the time) and walking me through all of lifes adventures. i wouldnt be here without you, and i am so so so thankful for all you have done for me and for the world. you are so good!

holidays!
hi friends! (my trademark greeting apparently;)
so this week could have totally sucked cause Wednesday i had SO much to do...literally, from 9am-9pm i was running around taking tests, interviews, presentations, it was CRAZY! but i got everything done and because i prepped and studied so much the days before it didnt suck!
and thursday i worked and u should know by now how hateful i usually feel toward my job and how ive been looking for a new one but havent found one and ive been really frustrated...well this week and last week have actually been really good at work! now that ive cut down on days and my boss is getting his personal life together its really affecting how much more work he gets done. he kept trying to get me to do things cause he didnt know how cause his old assistant did EVERYTHING but wasnt there to teach me or anything...it was awful. but now i just do things i already know and like and im less stressed when i get there from everything else i have going on that i enjoy my day more. and its so fun with annie, sometimes we have to remind ourselves to be quiet cause we're laughing and having so much fun!
school is still sucking. seriously, from now until the end of the semester (which is soon!) i will be writing many papers and studying for many tests every weekend.
today i slept in:) and now im gonna run errands, including getting my bro a birthday present which his birthday is today! we're going out to dinner tonight and then im going down to annies for a taco night and to meet the new boy shes dating. should be interesting!
HOLIDAYS:

love it! but i havent lived in it in forever so i probably would be over it by then. i will say that if u dont have to work or live a busy life in the snow, its really pretty to sit by the window sipping tea and watching the snow fall. whenever i visit my family in canada and its cold, i totally love it cause im just chillin and i know its temporary...but otherwise i think id be glad to live in socal!

anything new
lets see...no.
went to MADE conference up at Hume! pictures are on myspace if u wanna see a few. i got to spend glorious time with my sweet high school girls and it was so fun. Hume is the best. not only did i get to watch God meet a bunch of girls there, but He totally met me there too. if my blogs are any indication of how cranky and frustrated ive been, its just a small glimpse. but ive been a lot better. cutting back on work helped and making new friends at school and having time to invest in my high school girls. but most importantly, Jesus is helping me to be content with where i am right now. i missed Him, He is so fun.
tonight the HS group had a hoedown! we all dressed up and did square dancing! it was SO much more fun then you're thinking right now! i was so tired and im not into country music or anything like that, but it was SO fun! they had a professional caller come and we did all these different dances and it was so fun! im even more tired now, but my body doesnt like going to sleep before midnight so here we are.
i dont have anything else to report.
school still sucks and i hate my classes and im REALLY not sure if im gonna pass chemistry which concerns me.

i have a three day weekend!!! and a bajillion tests and papers due next week so i will be spending my holiday weekend doing homework and studying...huzzahhhh

went to MADE conference up at Hume! pictures are on myspace if u wanna see a few. i got to spend glorious time with my sweet high school girls and it was so fun. Hume is the best. not only did i get to watch God meet a bunch of girls there, but He totally met me there too. if my blogs are any indication of how cranky and frustrated ive been, its just a small glimpse. but ive been a lot better. cutting back on work helped and making new friends at school and having time to invest in my high school girls. but most importantly, Jesus is helping me to be content with where i am right now. i missed Him, He is so fun.
tonight the HS group had a hoedown! we all dressed up and did square dancing! it was SO much more fun then you're thinking right now! i was so tired and im not into country music or anything like that, but it was SO fun! they had a professional caller come and we did all these different dances and it was so fun! im even more tired now, but my body doesnt like going to sleep before midnight so here we are.
i dont have anything else to report.
school still sucks and i hate my classes and im REALLY not sure if im gonna pass chemistry which concerns me.

halloween
this weekend im counseling up at the high school girls MADE conference up at Hume! im paking all my cute high schoolers from seacoast and we're makin the drive up on friday! kelsey is driving with me and im VERY excited!
this week has been kinda sucking and i dunno if its spiritual warfare coming up on this retreat this weekend, or if my life just sucks or whats going on.
ive decided that i have possibly one the the hardest majors ever and its cleverly disguised as being a wimpy cop out major which i wont get paid much for when i graduate. the liberal studies major and teaching program in the state of california is so stressful and difficult to get into and once in difficult to stay in...its ridiculous. not only do i have a major of something im not interested in (its just a bunch of subjects i have to be good at, rather then something sweet i chose to focus on and somewhat enjoy), but i have 5 tests i have to take, another full year after i get my BA done in a credential program where i student teach somedays (not paid) and have classes other days all day that totals like 40+hrs a week.
my starting salary after all that work is only going to be around $35,000/year.
i will constantly be forced to take more classes and even to get my masters degree someday if i want to move up the pay scale.
all so i can be controlled by the government, teach to the standardized tests so i dont lose my job, and put up with parents and their crazy kids.
im pretty sure im just gonna be a private school art teacher.
which doesnt make all these hoops any easier to jump through.
so thats my venting after a long week of school and a bad case of the grumpies.
this will cheer me up! this is me and lola in her Lobster costume. Bella is a hotdog and sometimes they switch costumes.
i didnt buy them! but they're to fricken cute.

100th post!
100th post! amazing! this is quite the occasion!!!
in honor of this occasion, ive decided to do some extra special things.
1) HONESTY

1) HONESTY
-i realized im very self centered. i used to be working on this and trying really hard to be like Jesus and care about others and not about myself. but im sucking at it, and i realized how far down the other side of the road ive gone. i dont know what to do. but im pretty sure having some real legit time with Jesus for the first time in about a month might be a start
-im very judgemental and opinionated and i tend to force other people i love listen to my judgements and opinions. once again, i used to be working on this and loving people and trying not to open my mouth...but im sucking at it big time to the point that i cant stop my mouth before speaking anymore...like, im not even aware im doing it until ive said it.
-ive been "letting myself go" lately and eating whatever i want because of stress and being poor and just plain laziness and lack of self control. im normally such a healthy person its really weird to be "normal". ive been eating cookies from pei wei like its my job, downing diet coke like its water, even candy! i NEVER eat candy! so today i started eating normally again and i feel a lot better already.
-i get really lonely. and other then annie and people in my classes who i only kinda am friends with...i miss my friends. im having an affair with the tv which is ok, but i dont like watching it all alone (well Bella and Lola are with me, but still). i just want roommates and we'll sit all together in the evening and do homework and watch tv and make dinner together and be so fun
2) AMUSEMENT:
-Lola is the most amazing dog ever. while we were in the hotel i was holding her and sitting at the desk on the computer with a mirror on the wall. she definitly propped herself on the desk and started growling and barking at herself for like 15 minutes. it was AMAZING
-last night Lola managed to climb up onto the table and eat ALL the treats out of this pretty large bucket we have of treats we give them when they're good. i had to yell at her and act mad, but it was just so funny it was really hard not to just laugh.
-my coworker was talking to me today about something unrelated to anything anyone would ever have to know, and definitely broke into singing along with the radio mid sentence and then just picked up his sentence and finished it like nothing happened. i would like to say it was funny and hes a cool guy or something, but hes not. and sadly this whole "singing along to the radio" thing has gotten completely out of control.

home again home again
we moved back home this morning! yay!
the evacuation area and rancho fire is still pretty close to us, but the winds changed and arent headed this way anymore.
its frustrating because they resumed normal shows so catching the news and knowing whats going on is hard unless i keep checking the internet...but we're pretty sure we're in the clear. we're keeping packed tho, just in case.
isnt this crazy! san diego is on fire! ok, but im tired of talking about it and i want to discuss some other important things going on.
why did the babydoll dresses with spandex, combat boots, a scrunchie, and/or knee highs ever go out of style?! i was reminising while watching 1 love the 90's and i totally missed out on that movement cause i was too young and im sad.
colbert is running for candidacy in south carolina and in other states u can write him in. i think i will, cause i like him.
tomorrow i go to work and back into the real world. ehhhhhhh

EVACUATED
well we got 2 calls in the evening telling us to prep to leave. i had packed before going to sleep cause i wanted to be ready. cassie called me at 8am telling me there were fires in san marcos, i looked out my window and everything was orange and black. so we decided to pack up and leave since by the time mandatory evacuations are given, u basically need to be running out.
after struggling to find somewhere to stay (cbad didnt seem much safer) we settled in oside with our lil pups. we have internet! woot. we're realllllly tired since we didnt get much sleep last night and have so much anxiety its ridiculous so we slept on and off along to watchin the news for most of the day.
now we dont know if we should leave here because fallbrook isnt very far away nor escondido soooooo we're still nervous and im reallll sick. ive been sick all weekend but todays been pretty bad.
schools cancelled which would be enjoyable but i didnt bring any school books and im to anxious to try and study or anything anyway.
its amazing how little i found i valued things. we took our old precious pictures a few changes of clothes and me and my dads laptops and my cuddly blanket...but besides a few sweet objects i have fro when i was little...i was amazed at how little i cared about things...i guess id miss my journals and india stuff and diplomas...but other then that, i realized my family and dogs and friends are so much more important to me.

its been awhile
hiiii
well kelsey reminded me i havent updated in quite awhile.
i havent really had much to update...still busy with school and work craziness.
i had all this stuff due for my integrated credential program at my school, and im excited to report that im almost doneeeee. i have things to turn in tomorrow and then a group interview next week and then im done and im in the program! yay!
so that'll be some stress behind me. it was seriously an entire folder of things to turn in...like tests, medical forms, letters of recommendation...tons of stuff.
i had hardly any homework today. which would have been sweet except im sickkkkk.
yesterday me and kelsey went to disneyland and it was ridiculous. sooo crowded. i spent sooo much money i really shouldnt be spending. we rode a total of 3 rides and waited about an hour for each of them and those were the shorter lines. but was saw a SWEET parade. and me and kelsey felt sick and allergy all day but still had a goodtime laughing and being silly.

BEST GIFT SO FAR
well, my dear friend annie definitely conspired with my boss and got me a Mr. Sticky set!
should arrive in a few days and im going to use it on EVERYTHING.
its weird...ever since that stupid presentation, ive been finding all kinds of things i could use a mr sticky for...*sigh* and now i have one:)
today i had a job interview for a sweet job teaching at a private school in La Jolla, Apple technology to kids:) i realllly want the job, it sounds perfect for me.
then i went to micahs house and we went to sushi and i had sake for the first time, so good, and then we went to a pub and i got a chocolate martini and we shared a creme brulee cheesecake topped with irish cream (which is apparently the same as bailys! who knew?!). then we watched 2 funny episodes of freaks and geeks. then we started falling asleep and decided to call it a night.
i got to talk to my bestie Olivia today. i miss her mucho. i really wanna go visit her soon...im sad without my fun friend.
tomorrow im wearing my bridesmaid dress and going with some of my bests to goofys kitchen. im minorly excited (!!!!!!!!) why are we going? probably cause ITS MY BIRTHDAY.
i cut my dogs hair and it looks REALLY funny. lola looks like a snouzer and we gave bella a mowhawk. i love them. i wish they could come to my birthday.

the obvious adventures with kelsey, annie, and mr sticky
well, yesterday was another typical day with kelsey and annie.
we were going to go to the mall, but of course kelsey made like 50 stops before we could actually get there and annie was hung over drinking a gigantic bottle of water in the backseat. we finally made it to the mall and realized we were in the GHETTO. not to say that im better then anyone else, but their were large ginormous families with parents who were ignoring their crying and looked to be about 18 years old themselves, some really interesting outfits on some of the locals, and bumpin in the parking lot while i saw some people i think dealing drugs...pretttty sweet. we tried to go to the pet store but the stench of poop was so overwhelming we decided to go to sears instead...which wasnt much better. while at sears not finding anything, we heard on the loudspeaker that sears was giving away a free gift to the first come first serve people who followed the flashing blue light in the tools department. of course we dropped what we were doing and followed the light and the crowd of people clamoring for their free gift. the free gift, we were told, was worth about 5-7$, and used in hollywood, and used by all different kinds of professions. it was a glasses cleaner wipe. yep. just one. i reminded myself that one can purchase those 3 for 1$ at ones local 99cent store and hoped we got a sweeter free gift after the little presentation. the presentation was for the glorious "mr sticky" (as seen on tv) who picks up anything and everything and has a lifetime guarantee! our "free gift" was that if we bought the regular size mr sticky, we got a junior mr sticky, and a jumbo mr sticky for free!!! it was a limited time offer only good for today and all for only 25$ !
obviously we then left with our glasses cleaner wipe and ran out the door before annie could buy me it for my birthday.
then we came home and took a nap and i got yelled at for having a long voicemail. then me and annie watched a lame movie and waited for our friends who never came. then they came. then annie left. then kelsey left. then me and cassie went to bed with bella and lola.
now im procrastinating doing my homework cause im really tired and even tho i dont have a lot to do...i just cant bring myself to do it.
another week.

on saturday i went to a dinner party at micah and tamaras house with the freshly married speelmans. that was fun.
iron and wine are coming in November. so is Of Montreal. im EXCITED! to say the least.
i wanna see paris je tamie, the darjeeling limited, stardust, and hairspray really really badly. so much its painful that i havent seen them yet. i love movies.
i have a lot of weekend adventures i wanna take and have been invited to do. i just dont have the time:( i only have saturdays off and could leave the earliest on a friday afternoon and return saturday evening...which sucks.

-gotta go visit kathleen at USC and watch arrested dev and laugh forever
-gotta go with micah up to LA to play with jaime and do fun LA things

and really, by friday im so exhausted i can hardly even move after a week chalk full of 12 hour days. and i can hardly afford gas and random meals out as it is, i cant imagine affording much more at this point.
i think my priority is to go visit Olivia. i miss her a lot and if they cant make it for christmas then i dont know what ill do...its hardly been a month and i just really miss her. i loved it when we were both going to community college and i would always come to her house and study and watch tv with her in the evening and we'd talk about our future cutsy apartment we wanted. and i wanna see her sweet newlywed apartment and see where she lives and maybe even make it to seattle and see Yuna too.

convicted.
last night i went to north coast calvary, and i was so overwhelmed by the amazing message and special visitors they had that night.
i realized that for a long time ive secretly had the view in the back of my head that "im a really good person, i kinda deserved Gods grace" in came out in my mind that i believed that i had made the good choice to follow God...when in reality, God came after me. 100% God, and 0% me. somehow i thought i was a good one, and that people who dont choose God are "bad ones"
this is such crap.
and its not like ive ever heard this message before. its just that, i never realized how much it applied to me before.
why do i think i deserve Gods grace more then the convicts in prison? why do i condemn them to a life in jail, either physically or mentally, and write it off that they deserve it.
let us embrace the lost, whether they're in a 3rd world country, or down in the local prison. Lord, dont let me forget this undeserved grace YOU lavish upon me. help me to lavish it on EVERYONE else, including those i used to view as "unworthy"--no matter how i rationalized it or switched up the words in my head to make it sound better, your grace is big enough for everyone.

i was also inspired to think more about how im going to change the world. im praying about teaching at risk kids or in an inner city (or a mix of both, obviously.) the problem isnt if i want to teach those kinds of kids or not, its if i can manage not living in an unsafe place for my family but also not being hypocritical by working somewhere then living somewhere else cause its not "good enough for me", or whatever. im thinking Vista could be a good in between because i wanted to live in the shadowridge area anyway, and then i could teach in one of the low income schools in the area...all my moms teacher friends all live in vista too and already want me to teach at their schools...hehe. but now im wondering if i should get a certificate for bilingual education or whatever. so its something ive been thinking about for awhile, but didnt want to commit to because of all of the above issues. but God is speaking to me about this, i guess the logistics can be worked out later.
in other news: i wish i had time for fun, all i do is school and work. i just want to do one or the other, but at the same time its nice to switch it up with work and to have extra money...but itd also be nice to have time for a life.

i realized that for a long time ive secretly had the view in the back of my head that "im a really good person, i kinda deserved Gods grace" in came out in my mind that i believed that i had made the good choice to follow God...when in reality, God came after me. 100% God, and 0% me. somehow i thought i was a good one, and that people who dont choose God are "bad ones"
this is such crap.
and its not like ive ever heard this message before. its just that, i never realized how much it applied to me before.
why do i think i deserve Gods grace more then the convicts in prison? why do i condemn them to a life in jail, either physically or mentally, and write it off that they deserve it.
let us embrace the lost, whether they're in a 3rd world country, or down in the local prison. exhausted. done. dead. sleeping.
this week has been RIDICULOUS.
non stop everyday of the week.
hardly getting enough sleep.
hardly any breaks.
BLEH.
but, tomorrows friday and thats exciting.
i arranged my schedule so that friday and saturday i have off, and sunday i have churches and homework...but now i have to put in observation hours at elementary schools around the area for my class, so i had to give up my fridays. now i just get saturdays...but fridays i always ended up doing errands anyway so it does suck, but whatever. i get to play with 3rd graders AND mrs stubstad and its gonna be so fun!
its my birthday soon.
im kinda excited and kinda not.
im so tired and stressed out, i feel like im just running all the time from one thing to the next. im living off of caffeine and coffee and prayer. my neck is all sore and screwy cause of stress and to little sleep. i have nothing im looking forward to besides my birthday which im not excited about yet cause i don have money to do what i want to do. i wanna plan a trip or something for the winter because otherwise im gonna drown.
finally im going to bed.

sometimes tv
i am ridiculous.
ive been watching old americas next top model and degrassi episodes for 2 weeks now.
unacceptable.
me and kelsey went to disneyland today!
kelsey stayed out way to late last night, so when i arrived early as requested (11am), she greeted me in pajamas eating cheerios. so i read a mom magazine while she got ready, then we had to go to cosco, then we had to go to CPK for lunch, THEN we made it to disneyland! it took forever. after we crammed ourselves into one sled on the matterhorn, and i won the buzz lightyear game, we finished all the fun thing we wanted to do by 8pm we had done everything we wanted to, so we had time to eat a chipwich and people watch. its fun to pick out the people not from these parts...we saw many a lesbian, fanny pack, tank tops, spandex on large women, screaming children, strollers, couples that made us depressed, ect. all in all it was a good day.
