All The First Ladies, All The First Ladies...

Oh, I just love it when NPR puts out historical fashion spreads!

First Lady Fashion.

Mary Todd Lincoln, ironically thought to be made by a slave named Elizabeth Keckley.

Work it Eleanor Roosevelt. 1933. By Sally Milgrim.

Of course the most dowdy one was Laura Bush from 1989.

Nancy Reagen must have looked so stinkin hot in this. By James Galanos.

Michelle Obama's 2009 inaugural gown by Jason Wu.

Maria Eisenhower. 1957 state dinner at the British Embassy.

Ms. Jackie Kennedy of course. By Oleg Cassini.

Frances Cleveland was THE fashion icon of the late 1800's. This multi piece outfit was crafted by the House of Doucet of Paris.

Be inspired!

PS: if you like fashion as much as I do, make sure and hit up LACMA's costume and textile exhibitions at least once a year (they change!). The history of fashion installation is reason to go alone.
